Microsoft tests new improvements for Windows 10 19H2

Microsoft has recently commenced the development of Windows 10 19H2, the fall 2019 update for the OS. Today, Microsoft has rolled out the second preview of Windows 10 19H2 to the Insiders and it comes with notable improvements, including support for voice assistants on the lock screen.

Windows 10 19H2 Build 18362.10005 comes with the following improvements and changes:

    • Windows 10 will require the containers to match the host and container version. Microsoft is introducing this change to limit containers on mixed-version container pod scenarios.
    • For OEMs, Microsoft has introduced a new change that would reduce inking latency based. The improvement depends on the hardware capabilities and it won’t be stuck with the latency selected on traditional devices configuration by Windows 10.

Another important change that Microsoft has started testing support for third-party digital assistants on the Lock screen.

Alexa app is already available for Windows 10 and integration will further improve with the fall 2019 update. In Windows 10 19H2, Microsoft might allow digital assistants like Alexa to be voice-activated right from the Windows 10 lock screen.

Microsoft has also confirmed that the 19H2 will be a minor update and it will install like a regular Patch Tuesday update.

  2. Microsoft Selects Dolby Audio for Windows 10

it would've been great if microsoft added HEVC decoders, LAV filters along with other codecs with Windows 10, and developing WMP to be better than VLC, KMPlayer and such sorts of media players.

Nevertheless, this is good step for microsoft, by far.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
