A kind thought, but don't sweat over it. I am often too lazy to give reps and, in return, don't get so many. But the "medals" etc are , in any case, meaningless to me.

Agreed. I can't care less of touch interface on my desktop. AFAIK, these "apps" (I hate that f*ing word) are much more basic and MS is going to replace the advanced option by... a basic option? The more I read about Windows 10, the closer it gets to Windows 8 and it makes me more and more reluctant to switch from Win7, even with the free update.

Personally I could care less if it's control panel or settings app. I really only need Security & Maintenance and Defender and Admin. tools(also in start menu) often and I can pin them to Quick Access. Everything else, once my system is set up isn't used that often to get worked up about where it is, or what the UI looks like.

I don't see this as a big deal. Might take a little while to figure out where some settings are but after a bit of use it shouldn't be a problem. lol, I'm already starting to forget where stuff was in the Windows 7 Start Menu. Keyboard and trackball mostly for me. I don't find things any harder to click on than any other OS? Touch friendly or not. Tile or Icon, you still have to touch it, press it, click it, so what's the difference?

It would be nice if I could get rid of the nVidia update in Settings but I can't. That's the sort of thing that needs correcting and hopefully will be. I don't care about the UI, but I certainly care about being able to maintain my PC the way I want to and govern what drivers/updates/programs I want and need.

  6. I think the unwanted driver updates etc, is just a side effect of Microsoft not wanting you to block updates in the preview builds. Somebody just didn't think it though. I'm pretty sure that will change in the RTM build. You'll get control over what updates get installed and when. If you don't it will be a show stopper for me and a lot of other users, and I think they know that. They'd get a lot of negative press over it, that they don't need or want.

Betcha they're already getting a lot of flak over the arbitrary settings and drivers we're given now, Alpha! *Smile So, yeah, they should know what we like and don't like.

What really worries me is that "silent majority" out there that just take what's given and don't worry about it. Microsoft may think those of us who "complain" are just the "noisy minority". *Smile

I hope so, at the moment I have nVidia High Def Audio as my audio driver which I never use, and of course I had no way of stopping it.

What version driver do you have installed @Boozad if it's 352.63 , go here, download and do a clean install while unchecking the audio part.

This can be removed in add/remove programs as well.

I do need to update to 352.63, I'll follow the usual install method (graphics driver and PhysX driver only) *Thumbs

I've tried it once and it just showed up in Updates again. I'll try again.

Confirmed, it still keeps coming back no matter how many times you uninstall it.
