Windows 10 update, made printer unusable, wireless mouse unusable, created a blue/black line down the center of the screen,

crashed our sonar systems, and deleted all sonar files. The is the ninth month I have been dealing with this issue, the last two times this happened in the field, once while we had divers and an Rov down 100 meters. we have now made two trips to Columbia from Yuma Arizona in Vain. My entire years work has been in vain. This has delayed projects for the DOD, U.S. Parks Service, U.S Army Historical Division, State historical departments in Arizona, California, Oregon, and INHA in Mexico. This issue is Bankrupting our international 501 c3 charity and ruining my career!

Why can I not get return calls from Microsoft?

Why can Microsoft continue to force these upgrades when we have repeatedly explained that they are damaging our systems and threatening our safety? If these actions where coming from a foreign IP I would chalk it up to international competition or cyber terrorism but they are coming from Microsoft!

Does anyone know how to turn off Automatic upgrades in windows 10? We have tried every suggestion. Microsoft techs have tried with multiple attempts and it just keeps updating over and over!

I have even tried setting the computer to Airplane mode, It still checks for updates and updates automatically, crashing everything. I am not exaggerating this B.S. has literally cost us Tens of thousands of dollars and only by dumb luck has it not cost human life.

If anyone has any recommendations please feel free to text them to 8057126199 as I am running out of time and energy - seriously considering closing down as the stress of this is overwhelming!

Microsoft to push automatic Windows 10 upgrades in 2016

"Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 will be automatically rolled out next year to all users of its older operating systems who have selected to receive updates.

Until now, users of Windows 7 and 8 have needed to register to upgrade to Windows 10. But that's about to change: soon the OS will be listed as an 'Optional Update' and -- from 2016 -- a 'recommended' update that will automatically install itself, if users have opted to receive updates in that way.*Shadedshun :shadedshu:

You can opt out of automatic updates to avoid this, but Microsoftsays that "we strongly discourage this in today’s connected world because of the constant risk of internet threats". You can also change your Windows Update settings to install critical updates but not recommended ones. Although it's still going to be possible to avoid installation, Microsoft seems quite determined for everyone to be using Windows 10 in near future.

The roll-out of reserved updates was initially staggered but, according to Microsoft, now Windows "will automatically kick off the upgrade process once you have made a reservation".

As an intermediate stage, Microsoft says that it will "soon" publish Windows 10 as an optional update, not installed by default, but accessible to all users.

  3. Microsoft Selects Dolby Audio for Windows 10

it would've been great if microsoft added HEVC decoders, LAV filters along with other codecs with Windows 10, and developing WMP to be better than VLC, KMPlayer and such sorts of media players.

Nevertheless, this is good step for microsoft, by far.
