Windows 10: Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable 0x80240017 - Unspecified error

so I have a program that needs Microsoft visual C++ 2015 redistributable in order to install properly
so I tried downloading and installing Microsoft visual C++ 2015 redistributable on my PC

But i keep getting the 0x80240017 - Unspecified error here's my log file details:

Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 x64 Installation Failure

I suggest you to uninstall any existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package to check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

Step 1: Uninstall the exiting Microsoft Visual C++.

a) Press Windows key + x key and select
Programs and Features.

b) Right click on the Microsoft Visual C++ and uninstall it.

Step 2: Download the latest Microsoft Visual C++ and install it.

1) How are you trying to install Visual C++ Redistributable 2015?

2) Provide us the exact error message/error code which you get while trying to install Visual C++ Redistributable 2015.

3) Provide us the make and model number of your PC and the architecture, whether your PC is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Meanwhile, try the below troubleshooting steps.

• Fix problems that block programs from being installed by clicking

• Try to install Visual C++ in Clean Boot and you can do a Clean Boot by following
  
  this link.
  

If the Clean Boot works, then don't forget to place the computer to normal boot by going to 'Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting' section in the Clean Boot link.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable not installing after setup.

I have been trying to download Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable many times and for some reason it won't install. The setup runs and ends perfectly fine with no error codes or what so ever. However, Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable is
not installed on my computer. I went to check in > Control panel > Programs and features, searched up Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable, and all I see is the installers but not the application.

Hope someone knows how to fix this error. Thanks in advance.
