microsoft windows live mail Not compatible with New Email systems

the email offered an update to windows live mail ,so I did it and now mail will not stay open ,,, I cant even get to the email to copy its contents here ,I will have to look on my other machine to get it ... I never line the new mail app ,just because it new maybe and not use to it, I will use outlook.com instead for Microsoft mail..

    update
live mail staying open now , but I think the email said ,changes made in the next few weeks will make it use less in win8.1 and win10 .

    :)

  2. Windows Live Mail will not send emails with attachments

I am saying that when a user account is migrated to the new email system Windows live mail (using Active Sync) will stop working. I suspect your account is being migrated. Microsoft is migrating a million users a day to the new email system called outlook
    mail.

    Windows10 update nightmare

Following a completely satisfactory download and installation of the update I found that my email app. Windows Live Mail was not available, I could not send or receive mail nor open filed email content in my documents. It transpired tha the update had
uninstalled Live Mail without offering or installing a fully compatible alternative. To rectify the situation I had to use system restore and then download and install Live Mail. Until Microsoft offer a patch for this problem then the update will be off
limits as far as I am concerned !!

    the email I received

Dear user, In a few weeks, we will be making some changes to our email services that might impact your @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live, or @msn email account. Those changes will prevent your email from being delivered to the Windows Live Mail 2012 application you use. In order to continue using Windows Live Mail 2012 to send and receive email for your account, you need to install the latest update published here. If you use Windows Live Mail 2012 on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, we recommend that you switch to the built in Mail app in Windows to stay connected and get the latest feature updates on Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. Windows Live Essentials 2009 and 2011 are not supported anymore, and you will need to update to Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 and use the Mail app, or use www.outlook.com. To learn more about the Mail app, please click here. We also recommend all Windows Live mail users on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 to upgrade to Windows 10 and use the built in Mail application to stay connected and get the latest feature updates. We suggest saving this email so you can refer to it later. Thanks for your understanding and continued use.

    Thanx for continued use!

No way I don't want outlook! It is for BIG BUSINESS, not for an 87 year old that uses it for famiyl & friends communication!

MS IS NO FOR RETIRED PEOPLE! IT IS FOR THE POWER USERS!

I AM FINDING THAT THIS SITE IS FOR POWER USERS ONLY! Not for use that have a simple problem!

If you post one you get SNEERED AT>

YOPU HAVE SEEN THE LAST OF ME!

    !

I used Thuderbird by Mozilla since a few years ago. Due to integration with Office, I switched to Outlook 2016 when installed it. I'm happy with it for my pro accounts. For my personal ones, I use A LOT the web applications. So... well... I'm really spare, hahaha.

Sorry to see you leave. But if someone gets nasty to you about any question report them to a mod. No one should be treated that way when they want help here.

I'm using Em Client and I love it. The free version is easy to setup and use.

  9. Sure, if you only have one or two email accounts. Otherwise, you have to pony up almost $30 for the full version. Just sayin'. *Smile

Any idea how it compares to Thunderbird? I've been trying out Outlook 2016 but I'm thinking about going back to Thunderbird. Outlook is OK, it's just more than I need for a email program.

While Thunderbird is nice I much prefer Em Client over it. It's so easy to set up and it has more of a professional feel to it.
