  1. Microsoft windows security scam (Supremo)

We got a call that we would be charged 299.99 to renew our firewall protection automatically unless we called 360 208 8462. When we called the people could barely speak English (Asian). They asked us to download the Supremo program which we did, but then they started asking our password etc... So we hung up and stopped the download. They called us back twice asking why we hung up. I cursed them out and told them they were scammers and they insisted they weren't and called back yet again. I finally gave them a real piece of my mind and they stop harassing us. BE CAREFUL

    :)

    Supremo Scam

Yes it is not easy to remove this software!

    To remove this scam software:

    • Sstop the Supremo service in Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)
    • While in Task Manager go to the Startup Tab and disable the Supremo Service
    • Find the folder supremo is located in and delete the folder, if necessary take ownership of the folder first
    • Reboot

  3. Supremo scam

Supremo does not install itself, it just runs from an exe file. Find supremo.exe, it's likely in your downloads folder, and just delete it. See

    this article from Supremo.

Uninstall Supremo in just a few steps

Supremo gives remote access but who knows what the scammer may have installed? Run a full virus scan. To be totally safe use 'Reset this PC' in Settings >Update & Security >Recovery or do a clean install. Unfortunately this wipes out all your installed programs.
    (Back up your data!).

    Microsoft windows security scam (Supremo)

    Supremo

Hi Dale, Supremo is a VPN (virtual Private Network) piece of software

Supremo | The easy way to connect to remote desktop

    Open Settings - Apps

Scroll down through the list of installed apps and uninstall it from there

Also see if it is listed in Windows Startup items and remove it from there:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

    Click on the Startup Tab

See if Supremo is listed there

If it is, select it and click 'Disable'

    Close Task Manager

Click your Start Button, type msconfig and hit Enter

When the System Configuration dialog opens, click on the Services Tab

Check the box marked 'Hide Microsoft Services'

In the remaining list see if Supremo s listed, uncheck any you find

    Click Apply and OK

Restart your System and this annoyance will be gone . . .
