Windows 10: Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter - Reset button not working

Hi Everyone,


My wireless display adapter v2 (the one with the windows 4 square logo) seems to be stuck in a boot loop. Every time it powers on you get the white loading screen and then after a few seconds it turns off and restarts. I have tried the troubleshooting tips, but nothing is working so i thought i would try a hard reset (using the button on the dongle) The reset button isn't doing anything, i hold it down for 10 seconds as instructed (I have actually held it down much longer to check) but the light never flashes and it doesn't reset.


Apologies for the category choice - i couldn't find an appropriate category to put this in (mods feel free to move it)


Any ideas on how to fix this?

Windows Wireless Display Adapter-not connecting anymore

Did you notice any changes on your PC prior to the issue? I suggest that you follow the steps outlined in this support article:
Troubleshooting Wireless Display Adapters.

Since updating drivers did not work, in addition, you can try to reset the Wireless Adapter.

1. On the adapter, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
2. When the message " Ready to connect "shows, open the
   Action Center.
3. Select Connect, and in the list of displays, select
   Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.

Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter "button"

On the Microsoft wireless display adapter, the side with the USB cable connector, is found a little black button. I presume this button is used for resetting the adapter. Is that correct?
