  2. "Save your old Password or you might as well get a different OS".

Original Title: What is the answer to my question?

What is the answer to my question. Everything I have seen tells about workarounds or other machinations. Nobody (that includes Microsoft) has bothered to answer the question why the old Password? I don't remember a warning, "Save your old Password or
you might as well get a different OS". When I got the new password it was because I lost or forgot the old password. Can anyone believe that this never occured to Microsoft? My suggestion to Microsoft, explain it then fix it.

I have the exact same issue trying to setup Cortana, it asked for Microsoft Password, which I have, then asks for "Windows Old Password" which I do not have. Grrrr. How can I recover that PW, or is there a work-around?

Might as well be in Klingon?

What were you doing when it happened? Did this message come from a particular piece of software, or website?
I don't speak Klingon either, but imagine the important bit is:
So somewhere there is a '/' character which something doesn't like.

The message source was Dell System Detect.
I cannot be sure, but I did have Wi-Fi connection problems about that time in the morning. If it is that problem, I have diagnosis file.

Restart your computer. Open Dell System Detect. Does this message ever show up again?

Looks like some XML went bad and kicked out that message. It might be from a website or connected to HTML

    Code: <Type>System.Xml.XmlException[/quote]
