  1. migrated OS, now strange partition and un-usable E drive

I just upgraded my Motherboard, CPU, RAM, and OS drive. I used a migration software called MiniTool Partition Wizard to migrate the OS from my SSD to the new NVME drive. For some reason, I now have a 398MB LocalDisk E drive I can't see in disk management, and a 1.76 GB partition on the NVME disk that I can't do anything with. disk management won't let me extend the C: partition.

I'd like to get rid of both of these so i can have that 1.76 GB back to the drive space, and I want to make the now "I" drive back into the E drive as it was before i did this upgrade.

I noticed the C: partition on Disk 5 is not "Active" after trying to do some research for this. I followed some other instructions to go through diskpart in cmd prompt and found that this partition is not MBR.

Pics for reference, signature is updated. Thanks for any help!

Windows Version Number: Version 1903 Build 18362.476

    Partition or multiple hard drives?

As the title suggests. Is it worth installing say a 36GB drive for the OS soley or partitioning an existing larger drive with either 2 or more partitions? I am currently running Vista 32bit and want to try out 64bit and am sick of reformatting the whole drive. Any suggestions?

    W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

    - press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
    - diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
    - list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
    - select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
    - clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
    - create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
    - exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
    - click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that
