Windows 10: Minecraft Windows 10 Edition not updating.

I have Minecraft Windows 10 Edition (Bedrock for PC) and I was wondering why the new "Village and Pillage" update isn't automatically installed, and also why can't I manually update it. Do I need to buy the starter edition or something because if so, I don't think that's quite fair. Anyways, please answer my question ASAP!
