Windows 10: Minecraft won't install

I have bought Minecraft from the official Minecraft website but have not been able to install it.

1. I click on download.


2. Go onto the Minecraft Installer.


3. Install the Minecraft Installer.


4. Allow for it to 'make changes'


5. It then goes to the 'Minecraft Launcher Setup Wizard' where it says to finish.


6. After clicking finish, it comes up with a notification saying 'Unable to start the Minecraft Runtime Environment. This is most likely caused by a corruption. Please try to reinstall Minecraft'.


After multiple hours of trying to download it, it has still come up with the same notification. I have gone back to the Minecraft launcher setup where it says to either Repair or Delete the installer, I have done both and neither of them has worked. PLEASE HELP!
I am running it on an HP Pavilion.

Making backup and re-format...

Maybe I Install a Windows 7 again, At least, all of my games run smoothly ...Sadness!!

Homegroup For Minecraft Servers Or What?


It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server
