Windows 10: Missed notifications

I had a windows notification pop up just now but was in the middle of replying to a message so didnt see it.
Have gone to the notifications and its empty ...nothing was dismissed and all notifications settings are turned on and everything is ticked under manage notifications.

How do I find this notification as out of the corner of my eye I caught it saying windows needs to restart to complete this action and so I want to verify its genuine before I go any futher.

Surely windows must have some text achieve somewhere ??

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

Yes me too! Only with my FB app which was already installed when I upgraded to W10. wont load and was removed from my Notification List, I miss getting my messages via notifications, I did all the steps suggested but still nothing

1. What is the make and model number of your computer?
   
2. Have you made any changes on your computer?
   

However, I suggest you to follow the below mentioned step:

1. Go to “Control panel”.
   
2. Select ‘Sound’.
   
3. Under sounds tab select ‘Program event’.
   
4. Under program event, select ‘Notification’.
   
5. Make sure you select ‘Notification’ sound for startup application and system notification.
