Windows 10: Missing directX .dll files

I just recently purchased a new laptop and I'm been having quite a lot of problems with it when it comes to video games. For the last day I've been attempting to repair the issue, but with no success.


I have done the following:

Rolled back windows to a previous version which had a dx patch, reinstalled video drivers, rolled back video drivers, manually installing the missing .dll files, attempting an automated installation of the files, patching the games that cause the error (Which is nearly every single game), screwing around with my firewall and antivirus program(s), and even a factory reset of the PC.


I've run out of ideas, nothing I've tried is fixing the problem and it is extraordinarily frustrating at this point.


Any help will be much appreciated and I'll continue to work on the problem until it is solved.

I'm running Windows 10 Home x64, Version 1803

The machine has an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz

as well as a GeForce GTX 1060

XAPOFX1_5.dll missing...


I have tried the suggestion from TairikuOkami and it was unsuccessful. When I tried to run the game it displayed an error message which is hopefully attached to this post. As for spapakons suggestion, I would prefer to keep the latest DirectX installment. If absolutely worse comes to worse then I will look further into downgrading DirectX. Any more information would be very helpful thanks.

 

Missing .dll file .

I suggest that you perform the steps below and check if it helps resolve the issue.

• Uninstall all those apps (using revo uninstaller) which are giving you msvcr100.dll and msvcp100.dll files missing error
• Open the link below

And download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4.

3. Download VSU_4\vcredist_x64.exe if you’ll be installing this on Windows 10 64bit.

4. Download VSU_4\vcredist_x86.exe if you’ll be installing this on Windows 10 32bit.

DLL Missing

I actually posted the link for the "list of troubleshooting steps to resolve your boost_threads.dll problems" which is located half way down the page. I did not mean to promote any downloads.

Why don't I just go back and indicate that on my original post? That way there's access to the 'step-by-step' instructions, which are accessed via those green 'plus' signs next to the topics.
