  3. Overclock your hard drive!!!

Heres a much easier hack that I realized quite a few years ago that really does work!

    • Hard drive with molex power connection.
    • PSU with more than 1 strand that has molex plugs on it.
    • Wire strippers, soldering iron if you're fancy, electrical tape if you're not.
    • Take the strand of connectors from your PSU, and decide which one will be the donator for this overclocking adventure.
    • Cut the yellow and orange cables, then twist them together.
    • Find the power connector you've chosen as the overclocking connector, and release the orange cable from the connector. Now use your preferred method to bind them together, then place it back together.
    • Plug in a drive and feel the speed!
Congratulations! You've just overclocked your hard drive!

The hard drive or partitions might get miss or disappeared because of accidental deletion, loss of drive letter, virus attack, corrupted partition table and other unknown factors.
If it is because loss of drive letter, you can reassign a new drive letter to it.
Step 1. Open Disk Management to know which volume is lost and remember its partition size, generally speaking, the lost partition is shown as Unallocated.
Step 2. Open Diskpart service: type cmd in the search box, right click the Command Prompt icon and select run as administrator, then in the pop-out window, type diskpart and press Enter.
Step 3. Type the following commands in sequence and hit Enter after each one.
list disk: every disk connected to your computer will be shown.
select disk #: # stands for number of the disk where the deleted partition locates. Here we select disk 1.
list volume: all partitions on the selected disk will be listed.
select volume #: # stands for the number of the deleted partition. Here we select volume 7.
assign letter=h or other available drive letters.
If it is because of incorrect deletion, you need to use a partition recovery tool to recover missing partition.
If it is because of virus attack, you can run anti-virus software to remove it.
If it is because of damaged partition table, you can rebuild MBR partition table via a MBR repair tool.
