Windows 10: Missing Icons in Windows 10 OS GUI

A number of native apps - including the Start Menu Power Menu when I have an update - and parts of the GUI show icons that are missing. They appear as empty boxes. These include 'Screen Snip', 'Settings', 'Window Security', 'Start Menu' and 'Taskbar' just to name a few. This was a clean install on a custom machine, and the issue only happened after a Mandatory Update to Windows 10 OS as the one that came with my tower was no longer supported the update before 20H2. Subsequent updates have failed to fix the problem. Windows Store, Microsoft Office and Third-Party software do not appear t

  To determine version and OS build number,Press Windows key + R, then type in
  winver.
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
