    Missing Windows 10 Files

My laptop appeared to have lost power whilst updating last week. Depending on whether I use the recovery media or the system drive to boot, I receive error messages 0x0000225 and 0x0000098. I have tried the list of bcd commands but bootrec /fixboot always comes back as denied even if I format the partition. When running the command prompt to find my software license key, it comes up with "ERROR Description: Not found". I have tried chkdsk and sfc scannow commands which have all come back with an error and I have been unable to access anything on that laptop. The laptop came with a genuine activated factory installed windows 8 pro and automatically updated to windows 10 pro around 3 years ago. I don't want to spend around 2/3 of the original laptop price on a new Windows Product Key but I am running out of options. Is there any way that I can move the BCD file from the recovery media which I had to create on the microsoft website so doesn't have the product key built in onto my c drive?

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
