Windows 10: Mixed Reality Controllers won't connect.

Every time i start up my wmr portal and try to connect the controllers, they don't pop up on the Bluetooth tab and i've tried everything, uninstalling the drivers, updating drivers, troubleshooting, etc. and i can't find a fix. Can anyone help?

• Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
2. Click OK.
3. Were there any recent changes made prior to this issue?
4. Are you getting any specific error messages when setting up the Mixed Reality Controllers?
5. What is the make and model of your computer?

Upon researching, it was stated in this article that KB4284848 "Addresses a performance issue with Windows Mixed Reality on some laptops with hybrid graphics adapters, such as Surface Book 2".
If you're using a laptop that supports hybrid graphics adapters, then its advisable to install the said KB update.

Mixed reality controller not connecting

1. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC, prior to this issue?

2. Are you seeing any error messages?

3. What is the make and model of the controller?

4. What are the troubleshooting steps that you have performed to resolve this issue?

Reply with the information for the above questions, in order to help you with appropriate troubleshooting steps. However we can try few basic troubleshooting methods and check if that helps:

Method 1: Connect and reconnect both the controller.

1. Press and hold the Windows button for 2 seconds to turn on each controller. They’ll buzz when they turn on.

2. Put the controllers in pairing mode. The pairing button is inside the battery compartment. Press and hold it until the controller lights start flashing.

3. On your PC, go to
Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and then select
Add Bluetooth or other device > Bluetooth.

4. When the controllers appear, select them to pair.

Method 2: As you have tried to update the controller drivers, let us try to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

To do that,

1. Type devmmt.msc in the Windows search bar.

2. Expand Mixed Reality devices.

3. Right click and select
Uninstall device.

4. Restart your PC for the changes to be applied.

Also download and install the latest chipset and Bluetooth drivers from the PC manufacturer’s website. You can download the drivers from the PC manufacturer’s website, run the setup file and follow the onscreen instruction to install the drivers.
