Windows 10: Mobile Hotspot runs in the background without being turned on.

So i have a windows 10 laptop and of course it has mobile hotspot as one of its features, and when i want it to work it works just fine. My problem is that one day i was on my smartphone and i noticed that my laptop was still broadcasting its mobile hotspot even though i was sure i had turned it off. So like any inquisitive person i start to investigate and i notice that when i manually turn on my laptops mobile hotspot there are two (almost identical) sources of mobile hotspot originating from my laptop. Both sources show up in the listing of available networks on my smartphone, and both i can connect to. So i guess my question is, is this supposed to happen and if so is there a way to turn it off, i really don't want my laptop broadcasting (granted password protected) mobile hotspot whenever it is connected to any internet source. It just freaks me out and probably drains my already small battery in this laptop. Thanks for any advice.

Windows 10 Mobile Hotspot Not working

Hi,

Your Bluetooth connection may be enabled which prevents you from setting up your mobile hotspot. To have this addressed, we suggest turning off the Bluetooth connection and see if you're able to set up your mobile hotspot. Follow these steps:

• Open Settings and select Devices.
• Click Bluetooth, then toggle it OFF.

Once done, check if you can now turn on your computer's mobile hotspot. Let us know how it goes.

Turn On or Off Mobile Hotspot in Windows 10

Why should I turn on mobile hotspot on phone instead of turning on wifi? Moreover I can't turn on hotspot on mobile if cellular data is not turned on.
