Windows 10: modern apps crashing

    Do you have an approach that typically resolves the issue of modern apps (store, photos, etc.) crashing instantly?

    start menu and settings still work. reregistering affected appx packages, sfc, and typical dism commands do not typically resolve the issue for me. this issue affects about 1 in 16 laptops when windows 10 upgrades.

    Windows Apps Crashing

    Hi Serge,

    Display driver and screen resolution can be one of the cause of apps crashing. If the screen is not in recommended resolution modern apps will not work same applies to Display driver. Follow the steps suggested in the previous post and let us know the results
    to assist you further. You may also check the date and time setting in your PC.

    Follow the steps to set the date and time:

    • Type “Date and Time” in the search bar.
    • Click Change date and time button. check if the date and time is correctly set.
    • Click Apply and Ok to save the date and time.
    Note: Click on the Time Zone tab to check the Time Zone.

    Permanently malfunctioning modern apps

    Running TH2 on insider preview ring

    Tried launching calculator: it crashed. Currently all Modern apps look like this: http://i.imgur.com/N2xSc1w.png

    Tried: Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} via admin powershell - produced lots of errors

    No modern apps are launching.

    Unsure of the next step - please help! Can't even open the damn calculator!

    Modern Mail App Crashed

    updated my windows 10 to version 1511 (OS Build 10586.494), lauched Modern Mail App with added gmail account and it is crashed. If I delete gmail account then Mail app launch is ok.
