Windows 10: Monitor appears as PnP generic Games go black screen and stutter with Freesync on

Hello everyone i have this problem for quite sometime and at first i thought it was AMD that had to patch a fix so i was waiting but every time i updated my graphics Freesync always had the same problem. When i play games with freesync ON either the screen turns black constantly or the game stutters. Today i had freesync on to see if it was fixed already and this even happened while i tryed to do a printscreen with w+shift+s

graphics card is RX480 drivers up to date just like bios and windows
my monitor is the Asus vg245h

i already did scannow and it fixed successfully something did it a 2nd time today and it didn't show any problems.

I went to device manager checked my monitor and it was showing as PnP generic and it also was saying this: device was not migrated

Device DISPLAY\AUS24A1\5&1b5ed273&2&UID265 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

'Generic PnP monitor' issue

Hello Angelica,

I would suggest you follow steps to update the monitor driver:

Press Windows + X keys

Choose Device manager

Click on Monitors

Right click on ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and click on update driver

Tap on Browse my computer for driver software

Tap on Let me pick from a list of available drivers

Choose ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and tap on Next

When you are done please restart the computer.

 

'Generic PnP monitor' issue

I have problems with display drivers. The device manager shows an error
'Generic PnP monitor'. I’ve updated graphic drivers to the latest version but now the monitor is no longer recognized and I see a black screen. I reinstalled Windows, reinstalled drivers from the Ndivia website, no avail. This issue
showed up after Windows update

Computer: ASUS laptop K52JU/K52JT

Problem: When the computer was upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, it black screens when booting into Windows 10.

--- It tries for about 10 seconds but then black screens.



Actions taken: It boots into Safe Mode and operates properly while in Windows 10

--- Connecting an external monitor results in proper boot up in both normal mode and safe mode in Windows 10.

Device manager indicates the Display adapter AMD Radeon HD 6300 Series is ok

--- Generic PnP monitor has a yellow warning label.

Updating the AMD Radeon HD 6300 from AMD’s website doesn’t solve sole the problem

The computer has been reverted back to Windows 7 so it can be used while trying to figure out what to do



Bottom line: The laptop’s Generic PnP monitor black screens in Windows 10 normal mode
