  1. Monitor Not Working/Green Dots on the Screen - NVIDIA GTX 750

I am having a problem that started recently, probably within the past 2 months.

Quick run down of the system:

HP Pavilion 500-164 stock except for:
    • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 revision A2
    • Corsair PSU (I believe it was a 400 watt, can't remember the exact model)
    • 250GB Seagate SSD
    • 32GB of DDR3 Corsair memory

    The stock components:
    • AMD A8-6500 CPU
    • AMD MSI-2AE0 Motherboard

I have had this combination (except for the memory, that is a recent change) for a couple years now, with no issues. Now I am encountering a graphics issue. I have three monitors connected (all different kinds, a Dell and two HP's) to the NVIDIA card, using all three ports, the DVI, HDMI, and a Display port. I am using convertor cables, as the monitors are either DVI or VGA.

Here is what is actually happening: The monitor connected to the display port doesn't always work. When I boot the computer, it will randomly not receive signal. If I restart the PC, it might start working again. I used to be able to unplug it and plug the cable back in. That doesn't work all the time now. I am also starting to have issue with the monitor on the HDMI port, except this one will show up either 100% green or with green dots scattered over the monitor.

I am going to pickup some new cables today to see if they are the issue, but I doubt it will be such a simple fix. What do you guys think? If you need any more information, I will be here.

    :)

  2. GTX760 + Windows 10

I have had a similar issue with two of my systems,

1 with a NVidia GTX 750 and a GT 610. 2nd system with 2 gt610's and a gtx960. both systems are i7's the first runs 2 monitors and the last runs 8 monitors. on both systems the GTX 750 and GTX 960 both install fine, the GT 610,s on both machines nothing.
both say "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" they were all working before the upgrade from 8.1 to 10. and working great. now the updated is done and nothing. any ideas as to how to fix this issue. I want to say
that there was a similar problem with the transition from 8 - 8.1

    Hi Blenderite.

You said the memory change is recent, does it coincide with the monitor troubles. Sounds like it has gotten worse. I'm thinking power, specifically are you getting enough during the load that is experienced at startup. I would reseat power cables to MB and Video card.

I might consider buying new PSU before cables.

You might also search testing PSU under load, I noted this one article, there were lots.

One idea, hopefully others will add there thoughts.

  5. I looked it up on Amazon and the memory was definitely more recent that these monitor problems. I will take the case apart tomorrow and check it out.

As of now, everything is working. It's finicky!

  6. When you open it up, I'd clean the dust out of any heat sinks and fans you can access. I'd also reseat your video card. Many years ago I had artifacts on my display. It was a prelude to my display card failing completely. It started out doing it only when it got hot. Then more often than not it would put dots etc on my screen. Then just failed completely.

I had a sameish issues and i replaced my psu and problems went away. it might get old and slumpy hence not giving enough power to everything thats needed and then causes weird stuff like you mentioned.
