Windows 10: Monitor Resolution stuck at 1280x768

Hi,


My monitor resolution is stuck at 1280x768 resolution. I tried every "solution" online. Uninstalled drivers and re-installed, restarted PC umpteen number of times , unplugged and plugged graphics card. I am not able to go back to the original 1920x1080 resolution.


PLEASE HELP!!! I have an important project that is due soon..


I am yet to try to change the HDMI cable and see if thats the culprit as my monitor keeps going into "Power Saver Mode" every time I do a task that makes the screen switch off restart, sleep etc.


My specs:

i7-4790K

Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb

16gb DDR3 RAM

MSI motherboard

Second monitor screen resolution problem

What exactly happens when you try to change the screen resolution? Do you get any error message?



The recommended resolution on windows 10 is 1920 x 1080. Change the resolution to 1920 x 1080 and check.

The reason why your display was stretched sideways is because the resolution was in-corrected.



Here are the steps to change the screen resolution:

• Right Click the Desktop and select
  Screen Resolution.
• Click the Make text and other items larger or smaller link.
• In the Change only the text size section click the
  drop down menu to select the items you want to change.

Monitor resolution

Hello,

After upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 a while ago , the OS isn't detecting the correct native resolution of my screen which is 1440x900 and it sets itself to 1280x768 . I can't change the resolution myself cus there is no option for it. What can I
do ?
