Monitor turns off after 2 minutes of inactivity

Hi forum! Thanks for the above Andy and Blessa,

For me, none of this is working.

Windows 10 64-bit. The system still sleeps the screens after 3-5 minutes of inactivity, no matter what the power plan is. Even set to 45 minutes screen power-down and the screens power down betweeen 3-5 minutes!

The computer locks after about 1-2 minutes of inactivity and the screens power down at 3 minutes.

    Here is my configuration:

2x nVidia gfx cards running on SLI
3x screens plugged in to gfx board #2 and none plugged in to gfx board #1.
    Power and sleep:
    High performance profile
When plugged in: Screens turn off after 20 min. Sleep: Never.

Here is a screen of my Regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\
Notice how I do not have the following key: "238C9FA8-0AAD-41ED-83F4-97BE242C8F20\7bc4a2f9-d8fc-4469-b07b-33eb785aaca0"

    Thank you.

you probably have solved your issue but just in case...your screen capture showed the regkey but you had to go further into the directory by choosing to expand on the left side to get to the final 7bc4a2f9-... directory. thats where you will see the Attributes value that you can change.

i actually didnt have to do this because i just changed my theme back to the default one, and it stopped sleeping after 2 minutes ... this started after i messed with the themes and turned on screen saver after 10 minutes.

    Is next step

Right click - select 'New' Create new Qword (64-bit) for 64-bit OS Windows?

Which attribute value should I create in the r-click 'New' menu?

    Thanks.

Just double click Attribute on the right side, change it to 2 and hit ok. exit. Then follow the rest of the directions that was posted in this thread numerous times. no need to create anything new. If you dont see this then you are not in the right place in the registry. start over and carefully navigate through until you see what is in my screen capture.

I tried this to the letter but didn't work for me. Still fades out after less than two minutes. I have the Asus K55 laptop.

Not sure where or how long ago this fix originated; but it was the ticket, finally, for me. Since the last Windows 10 update--I think to 1709--my laptop would go to sleep, either after 2 minutes or sometimes after 10, seemingly randomly; I never got to see my screensaver photos because the screen would black out, even with a slideshow running.

I tried all the simpler suggestions, because I am a total computer klutz (age 75) and had always regarded editing the register as akin to touching the third rail on the subway track. But nothing at all worked, so finally I went into the recipe and followed each step. When I got to the last one, I did back up that portion of the registry, before I made the simple change from "1" to "2". Then I followed the steps to get to a chance to change the Sleep time, and sure enough, it was set to 2 minutes. I changed it to 45 or some such, and all seems to be working as it should, the next morning.

If I can do this, anyone can. Thanks!!
