    Monitor wont come on after sleep / hybernate


    I just built a PC and installed Windows 10 from DVD. I installed all drivers and everything seems to work OK. However, when windows shuts down the display or goes into sleep mode, the monitor wont come back on. I tab the (USB) keyboard and try the (USB) mouse but nothing. I have to restart the PC by pressing the power button to get it to come on. I tried a few tricks posted on YouTube but nothing has helped. The only thing I changed in the bios is the boot process. I set it too SSD Drive > DVD drive > USB. Other than that I haven't changed anything. Should I reinstall Windows 10?

    My computer stopped sleeping or hybernating from the shutdown

    My computer stopped sleeping or hybernating from the shutdown button in Windows 7 and Windows 10. The computer would shut off the display then go to the switch user disply, turing it back on. I tried turning off the LAN adapter by turning off this device
    to save power, as suggested. This did not work for me.

    I tried another recommendation to turn off the Power Options hybrid sleep mode from the advanced setting menu. This fixed the Sleep mode and allows the computer to shut down, but did not fix the Hybernate mode.

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

    I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the command line below:
    Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

    3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

    If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.
