Windows 10: Monitor won't come out of sleep mode after Update

For me it was a Microsoft Driver installed. Not really knowing what I was doing, I installed one from Intel dated 2016 rather than the Aug, 2017 Intel Driver. Maybe I just got lucky, something like my Daddy used to say: "Even a blind hog finds an acorn now and then".

 

Thanks for your response. I looked at Device Management, but I didn't see anything in there about graphics drivers. From reading the board you suggested, it might be that issue, but I can't figure out which driver to roll back to or how to do it. I'm posting over there to see if I can figure it out. Thanks!

 

Look for Display Adaptor or sth like that in device manager. Then check out the Intel driver.

Glad it did helped. I went through the Driver Update and selected the option that I had the disk (not exact wording) and then picked the driver from 2016.

Katie, yes you're not alone.
What I found is my computer works fine once Sleep Mode is disabled. I would recommend this instead of rolling back in the event you have too many files etc. to manage.
As for the cause, I agree it was the latest update to the Intel driver. Now we wait for the update......

 

For me, there were only 4 Intel drivers to select from. Problem was an MS driver was installed, selecting the Intel driver has allowed me to use Sleep again.

 

I'm going to wait a little while longer until Intel says that they've fixed the driver issue, and install what they recommend. I'm concerned about rolling back the driver update and causing another unintended issue, especially with more big MS updates coming up. Someone on the Intel board thought that the culprit was the Windows Fall Creators Update (what is that, by the way? Is that an automatic update or an optional one?), but I know my problem started earlier. I NEVER would have known to check the Intel driver update board without the help from this board, so thanks!
