Windows 10: Monitors will not go to sleep after sleep timer

Hello,I recently got a new graphics card as well as monitors. Suddenly, my monitors will not go to sleep after the 10 minutes specified in the power settings. I have downloaded the latest drivers for the card, gone through every single advanced power setting, gone through all of the menu options on the monitors themselves nothing points to wakeup timers or anything of the sort, and I have also unplugged all USB devices to see if that was causing it as well. In addition, as a test, I turned on screen saver for 9 minutes, and that did work. The screen saver stayed on for 1 minute until the 10

Getting out of sleep

• Does your device automatically returns to sleep after a short period of time?
• Have you made any significant changes prior to the issue?

We suggest that you check if the Allow wake timers setting is enabled. To check if it is enabled, follow the steps below:

• Click the Start button, then type power options.
• Click Power Options from the results.
• On the Power Options windows, click Change when the computer sleeps.
• Click Change advanced power settings.
• Expand the Sleep category.
• Expand Allow wake timers.
• Change the desired setting.

If you want a STOP Music button for Radio…

There is now such option for FM radio that was introduced with recent update. You can post a suggestion for sleep timer function to be introduced in Wp8 radio, at WP Suggestion box.

If you would like to wake up with radio instead of alarm clock sound…

Some apps can do it but not with FM radio. Here is an example of such app:

Sleep Timer

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

When you put a PC to sleep, all processes are suspended, therefore there is no extra read/writes to the drive and so sleep has no affect on lifespan and that can do no damage to an SSD or HDD, so you can set your sleep timer as suits your needs
