It would be a great thing for Microsoft to allow the user to shut down Windows update. As it stands, if an update disagrees with your PC you need to know about as much about programming as the writers of these updates to get the computer back online. I'm hoping to upgrade my machine soon, but it's come to my attention that doing so may jeopardize my ability to keep it from shutting down on me. Why? As many of my friends tell me, Windows update. We, the users of MS products, should be able to shut down Windows update, as all the previous OS' allowed. In this way we will be able to await the outcome of those who will jump right on the update wagon and see what the update will actually do, because from what I've seen update is a misnomer as it sets too many people back.

Windows 10 is not an improvement over my last OS, Wins. XP, and the message that pops up about how Windows is about to be improved with another update is many times a lie. As I read the things people have to do to undo the damage too many of these updates effect I'm struck with the thought that if this should happen to me I'll be hard pressed to fix any miscalculation by MS' update due to my ignorance of what makes an OS tick.

You want to improve Win. 10? Return the ability of the user to shut down update. I've never had it enabled in more than 20 years (until this piece of work was thrust upon us) and never had a problem with updating after an appropriate amount of time passed to ensure the quality of the update.

    :)

Fan control for 4870X2 broken in 1.17

Fixed fan controls yes. Annoying profiles yes. Buggy code yes.

I'd rather just set it and forget it as the feature list of RBE suggested it was capable of doing.
