    I updated my pc about an hour ago and once the system boot back up all it shows is a black screen and the cursor of the mouse, which still works.

    I’ve looked up videos for the past hour and most of them suggested I hit Alt + Ctrl & Delete to get access to task bar and basically work from there but it’s not showing up for me. I also tried Alt + Shift & Esc but task bar isn’t showing up whatsoever.

    I also tried to hold my power button and try to get the trouble shoot screen a couple of times but that hasn’t worked either.

    I went into the BIOS but I don’t really know how to maneuver it from there.

    I’m stuck and I don’t really know what to do. Any help will be appreciated.

    I have a Alienware Alpha 2014 PC. I recently updated to Windows 10 and now have a black screen no cursor. I did check in the forum and that seems to be a common issue. When I typed in my password, I heard Skype open, so I know it is there, just not on my screen. I do not have a port to plug in another screen, nor do I think it would make a difference. I also tried the drop, the windows +p and nothing worked. Any suggestions? Thank you

    • Were you able to get to the desktop screen after you restarted the system?
    • When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
    • Did you get any error code or error message?
