    Hello,

My Asus N550JV has a strange problem with the connection with internet. See pictures below.

According to the network status, there is no internet large picture

If I click on Available Networks, you'll get the picture of status tray. This shows only the option to set the computer to Airplane mode. There is no possibility to click or add the wifi or Ethernet icon.

Now strange issue: I can connect to the internet via an Ethernet cable. All sites are accessible. Non-Microsoft programs can use the connection for updates etc..

But Windows updates canNOT be performed via the Settings message: "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: 0x8007042c".Changing Firewall settings did give any solution..

Also, I cannot login anymore to my Office account via Excel, Word etc..

The wifi cannot be accessed anymore either. I have changed wifi card in the computer, but it did not change the issue.

    Notes:

I have only legal software on my laptop.

I have ran several times the issue wizzard, but this did not gave any result.

Is anyone familiar with this issue? The local computer specialist did not recognized the issue.

One remark: if I have to run an update for Windows itself, please refer to the internet site, where i can download the patch. I cannot directly connect to Windows update.

  2. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

PC wont boot up (No POST, No Video)

I recently installed a new Asus M5A99X Evo r2.0. The motherboard green LED lights up and the case and cpu fans spin. But there is no video when its hooked up to my monitor.

    Steps that i have tried:
    http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems

Made sure all connections are properly connected.

    Flashing the CMOS

    Tested the PSU

Followed all steps in the user manual

If there are any links that you guys can point me to or suggestions that could help it would be highly appreciated. Thank you
