Windows 10: Mouse and keyboard blocked after installing libusb

I can start windows normally but I cannot use my mouse or my keyboard. The issue started after a restart after I installed a libusb driver, hence I assume that that caused all usb ports to stop working. I have no other possibility ports other than usb to connect the mouse or the keyboard to my motherboard.


I would like to avoid a reinstallation of windows.


I would like to delete the files libusb0.dll and libusb0.sys from the Windows/SysWOW64 directory, hoping that this solves the issue. How can I do this?


I installed ubuntu parallel to windows and I can access these files via ubuntu everything works fine, no mouse/keyboard issues of course but I cannot delete them since for the partition they are on I have read only permission due to windows hibernation. I also tried to use a external usb stick to repair windows. In particular, to use a system recovery point. But I get an error message that the SSD where windows is installed is defect. Although, as I said, I can start windows normally, just not being able to use mouse/keyboard.
