Windows 10: Mouse Buttons

Hello, I am having troubles.


Every time I turn on my latop after shutting it down, the mouse buttons are switched. The left is right and right is left, meaning that the primary and secondary are swapped. This has only began occurring after I plugged in my external mouse. Each time that I log into my laptop, the buttons are swapped no matter what. This means that even if it says primary button is left, it is on the right. This problem is quite frustrating because I have to swap them each time I wish to use my laptop.

Please could you show me a solution, as every other support guide only shows how to swap them back, but none mention them switching back EACH time shutting down.

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue. I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates and check. Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Type Mouse and Touchpad Setting in Search and hit
  Enter.
• Change settings as per your requirement; click on Advance mouse options.
• Change settings under Buttons, Points, Pointer options, Wheel.

• Did you make any changes on the settings on your PC, particularly with the mouse settings?
• Have you tried plugging the mouse to a different USB port?
• Does it only happen when clicking links, or the left mouse button is completely not functioning at all?
• Have you tried plugging the mouse to a different PC?
• What are the troubleshooting steps you have done so far?
