  1. Mouse cursor location is too far to the left only when using Epic Electronic Health Record...

I use dual monitors for work and everything seems to work okay, except I was using Epic an electronic health record and moved the window from the left monitor main monitor to the right monitor. From then on, every time I open this application, my cursor shows up where it normally would be, but actually clicks about an inch and a half to the left. If I need to exit the window or do anything on the far right side of the screen, I cant. If I try to drag the window to my right monitor, the window shows up, but the left half of the window is black, and the right half shows the left half of the

    Mouse cursor displayed without offset

When the mouse cursor changes to one that should be displayed with an offset (e.g., the hand cursor should be displayed slightly to the left so that the tip of the finger matches the mouse position) it is not and instead is drawn with the same position as the default pointer.

This is not specific to any program. Hovering a link the web browser shows the hand cursor to the right of where it should be. The cross-hair pointer in paint is down and to the right of where it should be. The I-beam cursor for text selection is to the right in any text editor, etc. (oddly, Steps Recorder's screen shots show the cursor in the correct position, though it was wrong when the recording was in progress.) Only the arrow pointer where the tip is in the top-left and needs no offset is correct.

    I've tried the following:

    • Rebooted the computer
    • Removed the mouse from device manager, then reconnected it on a different USB port
    • Checked for windows updates, installed, and rebooted
    • Changed the mouse pointer settings (speed, appearance, DPI, etc.)
    • Installed the latest drivers for the graphics card and rebooted.
With no effect on the issue.

  3. mouse cursor corrupt

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

It sounds like the custom cursor file you've downloaded and applied for your Windows 10 system is either missing or corrupted, which is causing the erratic behavior of your mouse cursor. Here's how you can fix it:

    1. Change the Cursor to Default:
      • Go to Settings by pressing Windows + I.
      • Click on Devices.
      • Select Mouse from the left pane, then click on Additional mouse options.
      • In the Mouse Properties window, go to the Pointers tab.
      • Under the Scheme, select Windows Default (system scheme) or any other default option available.
      • Click Apply, then OK to save the changes.
    2. Check for the Missing or Corrupted File:
      • Navigate to the location mentioned in the error message

        C:\Users\Vmzla\Downloads\macOS-BigSur-Regular-Windows\
      • If the Default.cur file is indeed missing or appears to be of an unusually small size (which could indicate corruption), you'll need to download the cursor pack again or choose another one.
    3. Download Cursor File Again:
      • Find a reputable source to download the macOS cursor pack for Windows.
      • Download the cursor pack and extract it to a known location.
    4. Reapply the New Cursor:
      • Follow the first step to open the Mouse Properties window.
      • This time, instead of choosing a default scheme, click on Browse and navigate to where you've extracted the new cursor pack.
      • Select the appropriate .cur file for the 'Normal Select' cursor and click Open.
      • Click Apply, then OK to save the changes.
    5. Update Windows and Drivers:
      • Ensure your Windows 10 is up to date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and clicking on Check for updates.
      • Update your mouse or touchpad driver through Device Manager by right-clicking on the start menu, selecting Device Manager, finding your mouse or touchpad under Mice and other pointing devices, right-clicking on it, and selecting Update driver.
If after these steps, your cursor is still behaving erratically, consider restarting your computer if you haven't already. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix unexpected issues.

Let me know if you need further assistance.
