Windows 10: Mouse driver crashes with Error id 1000

Hello,

I have bought a Hama MW-900 182672 mouse. My laptop is Lenovo Yoga 500-15ISK.



I downloaded from their website the drivers for the programmable mouse buttons, I installed them, but when I run the installed application, it opens and immediately crashes.

Event viewer gives the following error:

I tried on other computers and the mouse works. It's only my laptop that has the issue. I even clean installed my windows 10 but the problem remains the same.

Can you help me please?

Code 43 My Microsoft 1000 wireless mouse

I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

Error Code 43 is a Device Manager error that means the following:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

When you get this error with USB devices it’s because one of the drivers controlling the device notified the operating system that the device failed in some manner. This can be because of corruption in one of the loaded drivers and the driver
cache needs to be flushed.

Method 1: Troubleshoot

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your touch Screen. Refer these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter
  

Method 2.

I suggest you to manually update the Mouse driver from the Device Manager.

1. Right click on Start button and click on Device Manager.

2. Search for Mice and other pointing devices from the list of devices.

3. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.

4. Uninstall the mouse driver and reinstall the latest driver from manufacturer website.

Wireless mouse "driver is unavailable" issues

Hi,

The error Driver is unavailable means that there is no available driver installed for your mouse that’s why it is not working. We suggest that you check the mouse driver from the device manager. Follow the steps below:

• Open Device Manager.
• Look for Mice and other pointing devices and click it to expand.
• Check if there is a driver for the wireless mouse.

If there is none, we suggest that you visit the manufacturer’s website of the mouse and download then install the latest mouse driver compatible to Windows 10.

How to install drivers for Microsoft Wireless Mouse 1000

currently, windows device manager, thankfully still present in windows 10, shows the microsoft mouse as "HD-compliant mouse". I.e. its a generic driver. As the mouse is not working properly (jerky, when you start moving the mouse left, the pointer initially
goes right etc), even cleaned with a new mouse mat, something is wrong. Its as if the mouse has lower resoultion than the screen, so jumps several pixels when you move it the smallest amount. Compared with my razer wired mouse, its unusable, even for word
as placement of the cursor is frustrating.

Googling for "microsoft wireless mouse 1000 drivers" takes you to this page:

Unfortunately, this page doesn't actually have any drivers.

• It only has something called "Mouse and keyboard center".
• this is an exe. It should be an msi installer.
• There are no installation instructions.
• When you try running the exe (after checking for viruses, as there is no signature or other way to verify it), it gives you an error message "requires elevation". It is worth noting that I am the machine administrator, and my logged in account has full
  administration rights.

Probably, you need to right click on the file and run as administrator, but this also smacks of a virus, as even Microsoft would not release software this unusable. You can get better drivers, installation, support and manuals from $5 no name Chinese mice.

I am sticking with the jerky mouse for now, and will replace it as soon as I get to the shops.

Microsoft, please try harder.

UPDATED 1: I tried the "control center" by "running as administrator". Although it shows the mouse as "Microsoft USB Dual receiver wireless mouse (mouse and keyboard center", its still unusablely jerky (no way to pick an exact pixel on the 1080p screen,
making editing text hit and miss, and editing images impossible)
