Windows 10: Mouse Driver Error

This problem originated in the last update KB4524244 for my system 2/13/20.


Issue: My mouse continues to connect and reconnect. It is a wired mouse through the USB port. From the setting menu my mouse throws a driver error, disconnects, and then rapidly reconnects.


To try and solve this I have:


1 Used different ports on the laptop

2 Updated all Human Interface Devices, Mice and other pointing devices, and Universal serial bus controller drivers

3 Altered power settings for the above

4 Uninstalled reinstalled drivers through device management for the above

5 Conducted chkdsk scan

6 Conducted sfc /scannow

7 Updated manufacturers mouse software

8 Check windows event logs

9 Altered power plan settings


The only thing I haven't done is reload the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mouclass.sys and C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mouhid.sys because it is owned by trustedinstaller and I can't.


One other odd thing is that Intel DSA will no longer run.


Any recommendations?

Wireless mouse "driver is unavailable" issues

The error Driver is unavailable means that there is no available driver installed for your mouse that’s why it is not working. We suggest that you check the mouse driver from the device manager. Follow the steps below:

mouse drivers not found

It still doesn't work...

I think the problem here is that I can't find drivers to download or update because the mouse doesn't need them in order to work, I've tried all kinds of troubleshooting. It's really annoying.
