Mouse is moving by itself and is unresponsive: but only in some circumstances

My mouse cursor has started moving by itself and becomes barely responsive when I sign on to my son's local account. This is happening on my home PC Windows 10. The circumstances surrounding the issue are very weird however. For some specifics:this is not a mouse issue, as it also happens when I use a different mousewhen I Ctrl-Alt_Del&

Unresponsive Mouse and Keyboard in Windows 10

    Hi,

One reason why your mouse and keyboard is not working is because of an outdated driver. We suggest that you update the mouse and keyboard driver by following the steps below:

    • Pres Windows+X key on your keyboard.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Locate the mouse and keyboard drivers, right click, then click on Update.

If you need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out.

    Unresponsive Mouse

The mouse appears to be a Compaq 505131-001 UAE-96 Mouse, it is several years old (2012) released for W7, there does not appear to be any specific drivers available for this mouse, it is also listed as a HP
    505131-001 UAE-96.

It was standard issue mouse for various HP/Compact PC devices, suggest check HP/Compaq website a see if a recent driver is available.
