Windows 10: Mouse issues

To start off, I am not 100% sure if its my mouse, but i am mostly positive it is. Anyways, the problem is hard to describe but i will do my best. Around a couple months ago when i started to play runescape my computer began to glitch in a sense. The best i can describe it is that sometimes the taskbar is not accessible, meaning i click or hover over for example my google chrome, nothing happens. I cannot do anything expect for the window I am in. At the same time in google chrome if i try to change tabs, the tab just closes, and yes i am for sure i did not click the big obvious x to close. In other cases, i can change windows through my task bar but cannot swtich tabs or do anything besides switch between programs. This applies to anything that is on my screen, meaning it is not limited to one program. The way I know this happens and my reasoning on why i think its my mouse, is because the icon that comes up when u press down the mouse scroll wheel pops up, and half the time i am not touch anything on my computer, and infinitally scrolls time I left or right click, and after this happens the problem has occured. I have found a temp solution to this, it is by CTRL+ALT+DEL and click task manager. Sometimes it might fix for 20 minutes or will instantly happen right after. This would not be as irking if did not limit me from moving the camera around in video games via the mouse wheel. I am person with little to no spending money so i'd like to try to fix this without cost.


I have tried to uninstall the mouse and reinstall, disable and enable, off and on, updating the driver. Nothing has fixed it for good. I once put in a pair of new batteries and it fixed it completely but only for a couple minutes.

Wireless mouse "driver is unavailable" issues

The error Driver is unavailable means that there is no available driver installed for your mouse that’s why it is not working. We suggest that you check the mouse driver from the device manager. Follow the steps below:

• Open Device Manager.
• Look for Mice and other pointing devices and click it to expand.
• Check if there is a driver for the wireless mouse.

If there is none, we suggest that you visit the manufacturer’s website of the mouse and download then install the latest mouse driver compatible to Windows 10.

mouse is not working right


unfortunately there isn't a lot to a usb mouse. what i would suggest is checking the power management settings on it.

Right-click the start menu and choose device manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers at the very bottom
Double-click on each HUB you have listed, click Power Management Tab at the top, and UNCHECK "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power"
You may have HUBs called Generic and Root Hub. Perform the step above on All of them.

If you continue to have the issue, i would imagine your mouse is malfunctioning. Perhaps try another mouse just to be sure. This will help you determine if it is in fact the mouse of computer causing the issue.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
