Windows 10: Mouse keeps freezing

My mouse keeps freezing and the only way to continue using the computer is to re-start. I tried to update the driver as its from 2006 but I couldn't select this option

• Are you using a USB mouse or touchpad of laptop?
  
• Since when are you facing this issue?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made on the computer recently?
  

However, you can try updating the mouse driver and check if that resolves the issue. Follow the steps from the article

In some instances, your mouse may keep on freezing if there are some pending updates on your Windows 10 PC. We suggest you install available Windows updates and check if that helps you. If the issue still persists, you may run
Hardware Troubleshooter Drivers.
