  1. Mouse lag issue

    Hello,

I've been fighting off carpal tunnel and Googling pretty much everything I can, including a few posts that lead to this subreddit, but I cannot find a solution to my problem.

My mouse is ever-so-slightly laggy and it's driving me nuts and getting to the point that I'm having to make so many small adjustments to every click (I work in spreadsheets a lot) that it's hurting my wrist and arm.

Here's some background information to hopefully help:

What is happening: It's hard to explain, but when it's happening you just know. I can tell the mouse isn't where it should be based on where I've moved my hand, and if I move the mouse slowly in a straight line it jumps around just enough to be infuriating.

When it happened: The first time I noticed was when playing WoW and I alt-tabbed to Chrome. The mouse completely froze for a brief second, then ever since it's been slightly off.

What I'm using: Logitech G620 wireless mouse, pre-built MSI Aegis desktop (with a GeForce GX 1660).

    What I've tried:

    - Updating drivers (what I could find anyway; the only G620 Driver I can find isn't compatible with Windows 10 for some reason. Downloaded the NVIDIA Experience to make sure I had the latest drivers for the 1660 - 445.87).

    - Used a different, wired mouse

    - Tried multiple USB ports, some straight off the motherboard, some on the front of the case.

    - Restarted computer (both via "Restart" and a full shutdown)

    - Changed monitor refresh rate, resolution

    - Removed mouse from Device Manager multiple times

    - Tried, one-by-one, ending tasks to see if any helped.

    - Cried.

    - Checked for Windows updates.

    - Disabled inactive window scrolling.

    - Disabled Wifi and Bluetooth on desktop.

    - Disabled Cortana (not through a regedit, though. Just settings.)

    - Unplugged monitor (honestly this may have worked, but I couldn't see so who knows)

    - Plugged monitor back in

    - Unplugged all other USB devices

    - Changed mousepad

  3. Mouse Lag!?!

Basically what it does is remove the mouse acceleration in XP. The mouse will feel slower at first, but eventually you'll get used to it... the only reason why I suggested the mouse fix was because mouse acceleration sometimes causes the sensation of having a laggy mouse (laggy meaning responding slowly). If you meant lag as in jumping around and generally not being responsive, then I guess you'll need to wait for more suggestions *Smile Mouse lag issue :)

    Mouse Lag

    Hi,

Mouse lag and touchpad issues may occur due to damaged cables, outdated drivers, and more. To rectify those concerns, we suggest that you refer to this

    article
where you'll find troubleshooting steps suitable for mouse, touchpad, and keyboard issues.

If you're going to update your driver, we suggest that you do it manually instead of letting Windows search for an updated driver automatically. Here's how you can do it:

    • Visit your device manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver from there.
    • Right-click on the Start button, then select Device Manager.
    • Select Mice and other pointing device, then the mouse
      driver name.
    • Right-click on driver and then select Uninstall device >Delete the driver software for this device check box >
      Uninstall.
    • After uninstalling, right-click on the driver that's having the issue, select
Update driver > Browse my computer for driver software.
    • Select Browse > look for the driver you've just downloaded >
      OK.
    • Select Next > follow the steps to install the driver >
      Close
      .
    • Restart your computer.

Update us on the status of the issue.
