Windows 10: Mouse scroll wheel jumping occasionally

I have this bug with my laptop where the scrolling speed is too fast all of a sudden, until I move the cursor slightly or click somewhere and it'll return to normal, then again. This has happened on my older laptop (Dell Inspiron 5482) as well as current (XPS 9500), and across two different logitech mice (M325 and MX Anywhere 2S) and all Windows versions I've had recently (1903, 1909, 2004).

Scroll speed in Windows settings is default (3) and changing it does not eliminate the bug. I have had enough of this and it just makes me hate using the mouse, is anyone else facing such an issue? Does anyone have an idea why?

My installed programs (note that it still happened before the logitech options software was installed)

jumping page when scrolling with mouse wheel

I am using windows 10 and recently my mouse started jumping the page up and down when using the wheel for scrolling. I have tried changing the settings like suggested but it doesn't work. What else can I do to fix this problem?

Hello Nate,

It is possible that the Vertical Scrolling is set to a higher numeric value. To assist you with your concern I would suggest checking the Vertical Scrolling to isolate the issue. Just follow these steps to isolate the issue.

• Press the Windows key and go to Settings.
• Click Devices and go to Mouse.
• Click on Additional mouse options.
• Click on the Wheel tab.
• Put a bullet on Roll the wheel one notch to scroll and change the numeric value to 2 or 3 (Depending on your preference.)
• Click Apply, then OK.

Check if this will resolve the issue.
