Windows 10: Mousepad not working on laptop after plugging in mouse

I plugged a mouse into my laptop and the mousepad stopped working. This isn't the first time I've used a mouse with this laptop and it's been fine every other time. The mousepad does not work even when I unplug the mouse again. I've tried updating/reinstalling the driver. I've checked that the mouse is on in settings. Please help. I'm on windows 10 education if that makes a difference, laptop is about 3/4 years old and brand is Acer.

Since installing windows 10 my mousepad has stopped working ive tried updating the drivers and my laptop tells me the mousepad is active does anyone else have this problem or any ideas on how to fix it its a bit awkward using a laptop when you have to

I cannot seem to get my touch mouse pad to bee seen by windows 10, it did work, but now you cannot even see it in settings, does not display mousepad. I have a Asus gaming FX570UD.
I did even pull out the tp cable (between mouse and motherboard) but still not see mousepad in settings or anywhere in windows.
at the moment I am using a Bluetooth ms mouse
How can i get my touch mousepad to work and to see it in settings

Hi,

My mouse pad is not working anymore. My laptop does not have the "toggle" everyone talks about, so I don't know what happened or how to fix it.

When I go to the mousepad settings, it does not show me any option to turn it on or off.

I've also seen suggestions to use F6 or F12, but those don't work either.

Any other suggestions?
