Move or Copy an Internet Shortcut from my Favorites Folder, I get "These files might be...

Running Windows 10 home. Still at 1803 update.

If I Move or Copy an Internet Shortcut or a folder of them from my Favorites Folder, I get a warning box:

"These files might be harmful to your computer."

I just wanted to make a copy of it to another folder.

    Thanks, cb

    :)

    Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one

    Hi Julie,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. I understand your concern and I'll be glad to assist you.

We would like to get a little more information from you to help troubleshoot your issue.
Please answer the following questions as best you can.

    • What is the version of Windows you are using?
    • How did you transfer the favorites on to the Internet explorer?
I would suggest you to follow the below step to import or export favorites in Internet explorer 8.

    • In Internet Explorer, click Favorites, click the down-arrow next to
Add to Favorites, and then click Import and Export.
    • Click Export to a file, and then click Next.
    • Click to select the Favorites check box, and then click
      Next.
    • Select the Favorites folder that you want to export. If you want to export all Favorites, select the top level Favorites folder. Otherwise, select the individual folder that you want to export.
    • Click Next.

Note By default, Internet Explorer creates a Bookmark.htm file in your Documents folder. If you want to use a name other than Bookmark.htm, or if you want to store the exported Favorites in a folder other than the Documents folder, specify
the new file and folder name.
    • Click Next.

Note If you already have a file that has the same name, Internet Explorer asks you to replace it. Click
Yes to replace the file. Click No to provide a new file name.
    • Click Export.
    • Click Finish.
