move win10 game/app save data to new pc

I install a game called candy crush saga on windows 10, and have reached a certain level.
Unfortunately this game data is not sync with facebook and cannot be sync with facebook
because my previous facebook account was disabled.
If i do a sync with a new facebook account, then it will start me at level 1 again.

I have recently installed win10 on another pc but i want to migrate my game save data over to the new pc

    how can i do this?

ie what is folder name and where is it located?

do i reinstall candy crush first on new pc
then copy the save data folder and overwrite that folder..?

is there a an easier way to migrate game data over
e.g. something similar to icloud / game sync etc..

I would still like to know how to do it locally and manually though.

    :)

Game files keep appearing on desktop.

    - Have you tried using a System Restore point from a date before you made the move ?

"3D Objects - Videos ... In short, the location of the games folder is E: > Desktop, "

[EDIT lazy first response ] - These sub-folders should have no relation to game saves. Have you tried moving them back ?

    - E:\Desktop ? The Desktop is supposed to be in C:\Users\User (is it even possible to simply move your whole User folder to E:\ ? )

    - You can (maybe what you have done ?) setup Windows to change the location of some of your User folders\sub-folders,

but I reckon it's unreliable and clumsy.

Not too bad for the Photos, music and Video folders, but it's safer to leave everything that is created by any software in your

Users\User folders on C:\ where the software put them.

If you are moving Videos or 3D objects, try leaving the folders and just moving the Videos and 3D objects to new folders on the HDD.

Make a partition for general data such as this, and another for your games. When saving new music etc. you can still direct it to save wherever

    you are storing the data.

Are you creating 3D models ? If not, the default 3D objects only amount to 3.6MB on my Win10. Hardly worth worrying about,

but if you are not using these files you can just delete them.

"I've intended that nothing gets saved on the SSD due to low storage."

    - You either need a larger SSD, or need to move other data from your User folders to a new folder on the HDD , eg- music.

If you have a lot of game saves you could also move files for games that you are not playing currently, assuming those saves use

a lot of space. I would still leave the original folders with any configuration files as they don't amount to much used space.

I would first uninstall all games from the SSD and reinstall them to the HDD. The only advantage to having any game on SSD is

    a minuscule shorter loading time.

With Steam games you can move the lot to the HDD rather than uninstall/reinstall, but will have to stuff around reinstalling

(or maybe just repairing ? ) the Steam client to sort out the new location. I've always had my Steam Client and games on partitions/HDD separate from C:\ , which also helps save time when I make a new clone of Windows

(btw - cloning C:\ before any Win10 version update is advisable).

    - My Origin and UPlay clients are both on C:\ , but their games are installed on the HDD.

    - You can also install most software to a new partition on your E:\ drive, but I leave my Anti-virus, browser and other software

that integrates heavily with Windows on C:\ . Depending on your non game software, this probably wouldn't save more than 5-10GB.

    - Games are coded to save in a specific place, so moving the location can cause issues, and simply moving files from your

User\Documents\My Games or other User locations a game may save in (eg - AppData or the games install folder)

to another HDD/partition is very likely to cause problems with some games, but most games will just reinstall a new folder the next

time you launch the game (btw - The Users\User\My Games is a new location in Win10. And with close to 200 games, this folder is empty.)

Some games bought from Steam or other on line retailers may still save in these 'traditional' places, but the majority of games

from Steam save in... Steam\User Data (not your Window Users\User folders).

If Steam is installed in default location this would be - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\User Data

    UPlay = C:\Program Data\Ubisoft for some games, or ... C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames

    Origin = C:\Program Data\Origin\Local Content

    Photo Albums missing

Most of the problems I see here occur because media was added to a new SD card from the PC or old card before the new card was put in the phone.

Other problems occur when you add sub folders to the picture folder. In my experience this does not work.

The phone has to create the file structure on a new SD card, not you. . After you insert a new card the phone creates a camera roll folder. There is not even a 'saved picture' folder. You can save a picture from a message and the phone will create a 'saved
picture' folder. After you have a folder, copy pictures to it. If you want to add a folder to pictures create the new folder from the PC and then copy pictures to it.

If an app has a folder in pictures the app needs to create the folder, not you. Start the app and save a picture and the folder will be created, then copy pictures to the app folder.

When installing a new card and you have apps on the old card that need data saved you can move the apps to phone memory before installing a new card and move them to new card. Use storage sense to move apps from SD to phone memory, open storage sense, tap
SD card, apps+games, select at the bottom, check apps to move. Same way when you move them back. System appswon't move to sd and some apps have to be installed to phone memory.

Camera roll pictures that you copy back to a new card may take a while to sort by date when you view from the photos app.

move win10 game/app save data to new pc

I don't have that game but Win 10 seems to put all my games saves in a "Saved Games" folder in the top folder of the user account the games are played from.

In theory you login to Facebook or Microsoft Account and your progress is saved. You could then restore it by login to the new computer. But in practice, this is not the case! I have the same problem with Microsoft Mahjong. I have unlocked all the levels and I wouldn't like to play them all again in my notebook!

I recently bought a new smartphone running Android and I found the DataSync app that can save the game's progress on Google Drive, DropBox or whatever compatible cloud storage. Then you go to another android device (such as the Android emulator Bluestacks) and you can use DataSync to restore your game progress from the cloud! Does anyone know if there is something similar for Windows apps? I did a quick search but unfortunately found nothing! And it's rather late (local time 2:40am), so I have to go to bed... If anyone knows a solution for Windows apps/games (and even for desktop games) please do share!

Yeah, these games requiring facebook login is crap
cos if your facebook account gets disable, you are stuff.
If u then try to sync a new account to the game, it will get reset to level 1.

Thanks for the info about datasync
Do u know of an IOS equivalent?

I also looking for the windows equivalent as well.

I wonder if we can just copy the local save file?
But we need to know where they are located.

move win10 game/app save data to new pc

Well, I had a look and discovered the path is:

    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps

But you are not normally allowed to access that folder. You must right-click, select Properties and then go to Security tab. Then change the current owner to yourself or Administrators and make sure that you also change the owner in all subfolders and contents (check the relevant box). Then you are allowed to access it, only to get confused! I found 3 folders referring to Microsoft Mahjong! What should I copy? I would just copy all of them and once I install Mahjong to the new PC I'll replace them to see what happens...

I hope that helps, but I would prefer a safer and automatic way like DataSync. I'm not sure if there is an iOS version, I don't have any Apple device to check, but you can search in the Apple Store for Data sync or similar. That's how I found that.

can u try the copy local save method and report back it the levels are still there?

With regards to IOS, I think we need jailbreak method,
I don't think this is something that apple would approve as an app.

In Android there is an application called DataSync that can sync an application's (or game's) data between two devices or through the cloud (Google drive etc). I don't know if there is something similar for Windows. Anyone else?

Well I noticed that if you sign in with a Microsoft account, then your progress (score etc) is saved to your account. If you install the same game in a new computer and sign in with the same account, your progress is there, so you don't have to play all the levels again. This is valid at least for Microsoft games, such as Microsoft Mahjong, I'm not sure for third party games. Other games might save progress in Facebook or otherwise, like in Android games. So sign in to Facebook (if applicable) to save your progress before moving to a new computer.

Yeah I know the candy crush has facebook login, etc
    but that is crap.

The reason is because I had sync my game to using facebook login, but that account is now disabled by facebook.
So if I install the game again on a new pc, I cannot login to facebook so it can sync.

Also with the recent Facebook voting scandal, I don't want facebook to link with too many apps/games.
