Windows 10: Move Windows to new PC

Sooo..

I‘m currently building a new PC (Ryzen 9 3900x. RTX 2070S, etc.) because I want to play resource heavy games like StarCitizen on VR.

When it comes to Computers, I know the basics of hardware, although I know almost nothing about software..

Since I‘m moving from an Intel to a Ryzen build, I think I‘ll need to get a fresh install in order to not mess with the drivers. (Right?)

Since I have a 1TB SSD (almost full), and a 4TB HDD (about 20% full). I was going to backup all files to the HDD, format the SSD and convert it to a boot disk (since I want to install Windows on my SSD anyways.

• Will this work?
• Are there any things to watch out for?
• Any idea on how to find/reuse the Windows 10 licence?
• how can O format a disk that has the System on it?
• Did I miss something?

I hope there are some fellow redditors that know a lot more than me, who can help me out....

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??
