Windows 10: movies and tv is not an option when my pc ask me what app i want to open with

when i try to change my default media player from media player to movies and tv as I prefer movies and tv's ui and reliability over the new media player it doesn't show up as an option and I'm not sure where to find itwindows 11 24H2

Movies & TV app not working properly.

Hi,

I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key.
• Type Windows Powershell.
• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.

Movies & TV app

Until today I have been able to play videos from a memory card with the Movies & TV app. Now when I attempt to play one I am asked how I want to open it and Movies & TV is not listed in options. I tried Windows Media player but had no luck. What has changed
and how do I get back to the app (Movies & TV) that was working prior to today?
