Windows 10: Movies & TV App Doesn't Play Shows/Movies While Offline

Hello Microsoft,


I'm very displeased as to the Movies & TV application runs on my Windows 10 laptop.


I move around quite often for my job so I might be in locations where I don't have access to internet readily available in my accommodations. I figured I would download the TV shows/Movies I've purchased not rented through the Movies & TV app. The whole download process is buggy to start off nothing shows anything past pending but I do see the Movies & TV app is utilizing my network usage via my task manager so it does, eventually, download my episodes/movies.


Here lies the problem; whenever I go to watch something offline through the Movies & TV app it says I have to connect to the internet and sign in! What is the purpose of me downloading an episode if I cannot watch it without internet?


To be more specific, I get this error message.


"Usage rights for this item needs to be updated. To play it, go online and sign in. 0xc00d27d8"


I say to myself, "Alright, I'll just go to my downloads in my library folder and play it with Windows Media Player." DOESN'T WORK! I even try a third party media player and nothing.


In all honesty, I am losing faith in the Microsoft company as a whole as this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the problems with the Movies & TV app.

Movies & TV app not working properly.

Hi,

I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key.
• Type Windows Powershell.
• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.

Movies & TV app

Until today I have been able to play videos from a memory card with the Movies & TV app. Now when I attempt to play one I am asked how I want to open it and Movies & TV is not listed in options. I tried Windows Media player but had no luck. What has changed
and how do I get back to the app (Movies & TV) that was working prior to today?
