Windows 10: Moving Mouse causes sever lag in games

I have been having this problem for the last month or so. Let me first make clear the games definitely work, as i am able to use my controller with no issues what so ever. It's only when I move my mouse in games I get massive amounts of lag. I have noticed in Task Manager with Resource window open, under my graphics card stats the 3D drops to 0% ever time I move my mouse then returned to normal after I stop.

I have already -

changed mouse

updated drivers

Done a clean reboot which I thought was working but isn't anymore anyway


Please help as this is becoming unbearable.

Severe mouse lag

Hi,

I've had issues with severe mouse lag in the past week or so. No new software was installed recently. I've checked and all my updates are to date. I can toggle just fine and everything else is working well EXCEPT for my mouse.

Any suggestions?

 

Turning game mode on causes mouse lag

• It was a .net optimization service and windows defender update, which also took up a lot of cpu usage. (I'm guessing that's what caused the mouse to stutter and lag).
• No, the game runs fine, as long as there aren't any compulsory windows updates that decide to run all of a sudden when I've been gaming an hour in.
• Logitech G403. Uninstalled the drivers thinking it was a problem.
• Yeah, especially those that utilise 100% cpu usage.

Just in case, it's a i5 7300HQ.

 

Mouse Lag in Games

Mouse lag in games can be caused by using too high graphics settings, but can sometimes caused by having V-sync enabled,

particularly if the game is not running at high frame rates without V-sync being enabled. Enabling Triple-Buffering when using

V-sync can help with this in some instances.

Having FreeSync enabled can cause lag if your laptop does not use AMD graphics.

I believe a dodgy HDMI cable can also affect a monitors input lag, which in turn cause mouse lag.
