Windows 10: Mozilla Firefox 40.0 + Windows 10

Over the past 5 years of having Firefox BETA on one PC and Firefox Release version on another, there's very little difference between the two. Firefox does incremental weekly updates/enhancements, so there really no "shock" to the user or to our computers/O.S..

In fact, a high-security U.S. Government website that I use for official tasks has printed across the top. "Do Not Use Microsoft Browsers. They will not work properly with our encryption. Instead, use Firefox, or Chrome." I used Firefox Beta 41 today and it worked like a charm deep inside the portal.gov system. Tried Edge for the heck of it, but it became dysfunctional, just 5 minutes into the session.

 

Good to know Firefox either way is secure, always used it for many years now.

 

Mozilla has released version 41.0 of the Firefox browser. Significant changes in this version improved box-shadow rendering performance, an image resizing bug fix, and security fixes.

I have gotten tired of all of the crashes from Firefox 41 Final. I downloaded Cyberfox 41.0.1 using Firefox and it crashed 6 times during the download. I now have Cyberfox 41.0.1 64 Bit installed and it is working like magic. Have not had a single crash. I am done with the BS that Mozilla is putting out.

 

Did update download yesterday through Firefox on 9/23 Gary so far i have not had this, but i'll keep you posted if i do. Never had constant crashes with using it for many years.

 

I have 29 extensions and have for the last 10 years. These crashed started when Firefox started to try and emulate Chrome. They also are trying to make all of their extensions work on Firefox-Chrome and Opera. Wots of luck with that. Many Devs are jumping ship. I foresee Firefox being dead in 2 years.

 

Wish you luck, but hard to even think 29 extensions could not cause an issue, i know said used it for so many years, but that is quite a lot to think would cause issues. Guess it is what you say, since i am not that aware of what you know about this part with them. Man Overboard !! *Confused

 

I used to use nothing but Nightly Builds until Mozilla started this nonsense. In Fx42 if you have an unsigned extension-it will not work. If it were not for CSS i would have been on Chrome years ago. The Developer of Cyberfox is a great guy and doing a great job. It seems that Mozilla has given up on a 64 Bit browser.

 

Think i remember talk about unsigned extension back before this 41. build, believe 40.0 build of Firefox. That had to be signed, some new security thing. Taking a look at Cyberfox, very nice look, wondering about trying it now. Wondering if 64 bit browser is a benefit to a 64bit OS or can only be used on one, not sure, my knowledge of this.

No probs, I was actually expecting more negative replies, like: "Why the h*ll would I do that!", or "As long as it doesn't act like Edge!" *Smile

Firefox-Don't Love It-Live It!

 

I still use Edge as default browser and if i do not want to open another tab or move from page in Firefox i am on and want to look something else up, Dual browsers *092. Not a hater of Edge and it's still new awaiting improvements, i have been using Firefox for so long and i just prefer it even over the days when was just IE only OS.

 

I definitely live it and with it !!
