Windows 10: MS Defender Windows 10

Discus and support MS Defender Windows 10 in AntiVirus, Firewalls and System Security to solve the problem; There must be a logical explanation for the following.     There must be a logical explanation for the following. Downloading the latest Virus definitions V1.283.2025.0 today on New Zealand time Jan2/2019-2:35PM the time on the update history states Jan3/2019-3:34AM. The PC-clock Jan2/2019-2:34PM, and checking the time in the USA(San Francisco) Jan1/2019-5:35PM. An simple explanation would help to restore my faith in Microsoft. Jo Assink - New Zealand

    MS Defender Won't Load After Upgrade to Windows 10 Ver 1511

    Attempted every step in document provided by Microsoft

    Problems starting Windows Defender in Windows 8/8.1/10

    Nothing worked, HOWEVER, the last step is to Delete Conflicting Registry Entries. My registry contains one of the entries listed (MsMpEng.exe) however, REGEDIT could not delete this entry as I was directed.

    Problem still exists; as soon as I start MS Defender, it stops.

    Any further suggestions?

    • Open a new Explorer window.

    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
