Except this isn't true. An update applies very differently from an upgrade. They are not even comparable.

The one and only thing that they have in common is that both can come through Windows Update.

 

With all due respect, you might be crossing a line here. Please reconsider.

I personally think a lot of lines have been crossed on internet forums such as this.

 

What are the newbs supposed to think/do? BTW 10586.3 to 10586.11 was about as smooth and trouble free as an UPGRADE that I have ever experienced. TY developers.

 

Well, there are probably MORE Windows users in India & the Mideast, than there are in the United States. They're receiving the same slap in the face from Microsoft that we are. What the world is witnessing and experiencing is a Microsoft that's going through an internal crises. Hopefully when it emerges, the company will be more like the one Bill Gates founded. One that respects the end user. If going back to a Purchasable O.S., is the price for re-gaining respect, I'm all in.

 

Yeah, but that is moral equivalency thinking. Each case on its own merit. I think it may violate the terms of service linked at the bottom of the page. To quote in pertinent part,

Maybe like other companies, it needs to bring Bill Gates back to Microsoft... Just like Apple with bringing Steve Jobs back... or heck, let Paul Allen run Microsoft! *Wink
