    MS SQL Server Compact


    This software installed on July 19 V 4.0.8482.1. I don't know where it came from. I didn't knowingly install it. I have no idea why I have it. I'm a home user so I don't know of what use it would be to me. Would someone please explain what it is, why I have it, and do I need it? Does it have anything to do with Office 365? Thanks for anyone's comments.

    MS SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition

    MS SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition is part of Windows Essentials 2012.

    Do you have Windows Essentials 2012?

    Uninstalling Windows Live Essentials uninstalled MS SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition.

    Thanks for the hint! Apparently carried over to Win 10 in an upgrade from Win 7. Never used it or noticed it was there. MS SQL Server Compact :)

    SQL Compact 3.5

    I just starting with Windows Mobile 6.x



    I have installed on my PC




    • Visual Studio 2008 professional

    • SQL Server Compact ed. 3.5

    and update with "SQL Server Compact 3.5 Service Pack 1 for Windows Desktop "

    I test on HTC Diamond with WM6.1

    At first time on my phone occour this error : "Can't find PInvoke DLL 'sqlceme35.dll',

    I resolve it installing "\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v3.5\Devices\wce500\armv4i\sqlce.wce5.armv4i.CAB"
    now it is OK !

    but now I have the same error on emulator !!

    at the row :

    SqlCeEngine en = new SqlCeEngine(@"Data Source=\My Documents\test.sdf");


    Have any idea ?
